Euromediterranean Dialogue

“On the Phoenicians Route”

This event, sponsored by the Cultural Itineraries European Institute of the European Council, the Ministero per i Beni e Attività Culturali of Italy, the President and the regional Tourism Councillor of the Sicilian region, the Marsala’s Municipality, saw the official presentation of the Itinerary to the euromediterrenean public opinion, the countries no official involved yet, the European institutions that follow the Itinerary’ s development as a path of Mediterranean interculture. By this event it was possible to involve all countries interested in the Phoencian-Punic civilization, to develop international models of cooperation so that the Itinerary will realize all its chances in cultural, pedagogic and touristic fields. Many scientific partners collaborated with us: the cultural and environmental goods Superintendency, the Phoenician-Punic archaeology field, the research sector with the Researches National Council and the Cultural Tourism Science Course of  Cefalù (Palermo’s Univeristy), the sector charity (cultural and environmental, touristic and nautical), the schools and the universities.

Were there the delegates of Italy, France, Spain, Tunisy and other delagates from Greece and Malta gave their adhesion. The other Mediterranean Itineraries delegates, as Al Andalus, Mozart Ways, Via Francigena and Via Carolingia, were guests of honor.

An Euro-Mediterranean dialogue was been lauched during the event to create a peace itinerary that, through 15 countries long the Phoenicinans’ tracks of 3000 yaers ago, allows new voyagers to understand better the Mediterranean. Moreover, were been presented specific programmes for  the Mediterranean youths about pedagogy, professional formation, charity. To fix the event’s importance, Sicily and Sardinia regions had  subscribed an agreement with the Cultural Itineraries Eurpean Institute, called the “Carta di Marsala”  as seal of a crucial and significant event for the towns that want to invest on the Phoenicians’ Route.

5^th – 6^th May 2006, Castelvetrano

Mediterranean Efebocortogiovani Festival On the occasion of the third edition of Efebocortogiovani Festival, the Phoenicians’ Route started a collaboration with the  Scientific secondary school of Castelvetrano.

The “Efebocortogiovani” competition is a short films exhibition for youths from Italian schools and it want to promote the dialogue  among the young people.

Event devoted to both the development and the promotion of the Sicilian Phoenician-Punic heritage in collaboration with the  Assessorato al Turismo of Sicilian Region and the Region Presidency.

Efebocortogiovani Festival

After a first collaboration for the third edition in 5-6 May 2006, the Phoenicians’ Route  will participate in the “Efebocortogiovani” competition organized by the Scientific secondary school of Castelvetrano in october 2007; a short films exhibition for Italian, European Mediterranean schools pupils as well as for filmakers of these Countries.

The event aims to become a medium of communication and intercultural exchange among the the youths from Europe and the Mediterranean.
